The Broad

The Broad contemporary art museum in Los Angeles spans 120,000 square feet and is one of the largest column-free gallery spaces in the United States. Its signature architectural feature—a striking honeycomb veil façade sheathed in glass—floods the galleries with natural light while offering passersby a glimpse of the art within. Larson Engineering, Inc. provided the structural analysis for the veil façade’s member connections and anchorage to the building’s structure. This complex task required detailed modeling and coordination to support the façade’s structural performance while integrating with the museum’s bold architectural vision.
