The Shell Rock Soy Processing Plant is a soybean crush plant located in Shell Rock, Iowa that crushes 38.5 million bushels of soybeans annually or 110,000 soy beans per day. The plant itself, sitting on 48 acres, opened early 2023, employing 50 people.
Larson Engineering was the lead structural engineer for the project. Larson responsible for the structural engineering of the plant’s Prep Building, a five-story steel framed structure, housing a multitude of processing equipment. Additionally, Larson engineered the Extraction Building, Meal Storage Building, Fire Pump Building, and numerous bin and tower foundations throughout the site.
