Structural engineering services for a three-story, 55,000 square foot addition, expanding and improving classrooms and laboratories dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education in a public high school setting. With a façade designed to resemble the periodic table of elements, this $23.7 million project tailors every detail to its high-tech purpose, exposing rather than concealing the building’s inner workings. Features include movable glass walls, flexible work spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows and extra-wide hallways, and labs doubled in size, with state-of-the-art equipment and ample exhibition space for special programs including the school’s Business Incubator and its pre-engineering program, Project Lead the Way. This project was featured in an issue of Modern Steel magazine.
