Phase 1 Project Description:

The Phase 1 project consisted of a new concession/restroom building, ticket booths, stadium entrance, bleachers and press-box, and associated site utilities.

The new concession/restroom building consists of four overhead coiling doors which serve the concessions and team store as well as the men’s and women’s restrooms are located on the backside of the building with entrances on either side. The main entrance consists of two 15’ tall columns connected by an arched steel sign with that reads “Dewey Field” in brushed aluminum letters. Below the sign are 10’ tall ornamental gates with the school’s mascots, “Bluejays” and “Jayettes” written at the top in brushed aluminum letters. Each side of the main entrance includes a masonry block ticket booth. The new bleachers have 15 rows with a total seating capacity of 1,052 seats, and includes a new 10’x42’ press-box. A 10’ concrete drive runs below the bleachers to allow access for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Phase 2 Project Description:

The Phase 2 project consisted of reconstructing the existing 6-lane athletic track with a cement stabilized base, reconstruction of the high jump event, relocation of the long jump event to be outside the athletic track, with new sidewalk pavement, fencing, and consequential site work.

Larson Engineering Services:

Larson Engineering was involved with the project from master planning through construction completion. Work was coordinated with the City of Perry prior to and during design, Construction costs were developed, staff meeting presentations were made and the plans and specifications were prepared and bid and two successful general contractors were approved by the school. Follow-up construction observation was performed and close-out documents were completed.
